The Return of Somaly

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN SOMALY? OH, WHERE? OH, WHERE?

While I was away in Dublin over the summer I heard the bad news that tiny Somaly went missing. After giving up hope and exhausting efforts in finding her, she has returned home safely, creepily before Halloween...

What joy in having lil Somaly back. Looks like she was well fed though she appears to have led a rough life. She probably had to fend off other dogs/cats while dodging cars all on her own AND trying to figure out what her next meal was going to be. I wonder who she suckered into feeding her (it's not hard with her tiny size, big eyes, puckered lips and pip squeak cry) because I want to thank them for taking her in and caring for her. I am definitely that type of sucker myself when I see a little helpless fur ball. She did come back with a visible scar on her tiny head and a couple of tiny other scabs, but otherwise she seems cool.

Maybe running away to be free to find herself and explore almost 3 months on her own is enough for her to get that out of her system and remain permanent at home where she belongs!

London: Stonehenge

So I skipped my last weeks in Dublin, but I wanted to post about Stonehenge because I came across an interesting article yesterday on the recent excavation findings. Marisol and I were in London for a few days and given the short amount of time there, we wanted to pack in as much tourist-worthy sights we could to truly make it worthwhile in a place rich in history and expensive as hell for us. In the end you just stop converting currency because how can one be depressed when on vacay?! I sure didn't want to be crying or bitching about how expensive things were and just wanted to go with the flow and grasp all those intoxicating feelings of bliss in traveling and enjoying London.

We chose Evans Tours that packed in Windsor Castle, City of Bath and Stonehenge in one day; 8AM - 7PM. I have been to all three destinations before, but to me, it was another special moment to be able to visit those places once again. Especially Stonehenge. 

Our wonderful and entertaining tour guide mentioned these excavations and presumed revelations during the tour. And sure enough, it can appear that his information is quite reliable and verifiable indeed. Every bits and pieces of them. Ahhh, but Stonehenge is truly a sight to see, feel (it was sooooo windy!) and wonder about. They may appear as big, boring standing rocks to some, but the recent findings are definitely getting us closer to piecing the actual events of and surrounding Stonehenge. Mysterious it is and has been for many years, until now I believe based on those recent findings:

New Friend

I forgot to mention this, but guess who I have been trying to make friends with ever since arriving back home?!?!

I would like to introduce you to my new backyard possum buddy. Whatever your feelings are on this marsupial are your own and will not change my mind one bit. This little one is cute and I am hoping to entice it back to make frequent backyard visits.

Hello! Sorry for being the supreme lazy blogger that I am but I have had a jam-packed summer and reality has set in and I haven't had the urge to blog. 

Also, I can't believe it's going to be October already. It seemed like yesterday when I was writing about my summer.
